Getting a move on

From the start of this project we have been held up by the weather and this spring no exception. Lovely weather for gardening but we weren't quite ready as first we needed our favourite digger man, Michel, to level the ground where we are going to create the new potager (veg plot). Finally he declared the ground dry enough to work on and we were off.

Next to put up the greenhouse so we could finally start sowing seeds. It proved a lot more complicated than we expected - in fact a bit of a flat pack nightmare.

The raised beds are coming along well and we are getting them filled with the usual mixture of manure and compost. Our neighbour has been throwing his garden rubbish over his fence into the field for years and offered the results to us - superb stuff but a bit of a manoeuvre to get to it, we have had to do a lot of shovelling and wheelbarrowing.

The greenhouse finally finished in went the potting table, the seed tray shelves and the raised beds.

Then the planting started - and we're off again. Happy gardening everyone.

A bientôt.
